Coatings for Corrosion Protection in Gas and Oil Pipelines: Technological Innovations and Industrial Applications

چکیده :

Corrosion is a significant challenge in the oil and gas industry, leading to increased maintenance costs and safety risks. This manuscript reviews the effectiveness of advanced coating technologies in mitigating corrosion in gas and oil pipelines. Various types of coatings, including epoxy, polyurethane, and nanotechnology-enhanced formulations, are analyzed for their performance in laboratory and field tests. Results indicate that these advanced coatings provide substantial improvements in corrosion resistance, durability, and overall cost-effectiveness compared to traditional methods. Case studies highlight successful implementations of these coatings, showcasing their ability to enhance pipeline integrity and reduce operational downtime. Despite the advantages, challenges such as initial costs and application techniques remain. Future research directions focus on developing smart and bio-inspired coatings to further improve corrosion protection. This review underscores the importance of investing in advanced coating technologies to ensure the long-term safety and efficiency of pipeline infrastructure.
