Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using extract of plant: Characterizations and antibacterial activity

چکیده :
Biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles has been achieved by a simple green chemical procedure using aqueous Thymus daenensis extract as a reducing agent and a capping agent. The prepared nanoparticles were characterized using ultraviolet-visible (UV–vis) spectrometer, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Ag NPs were spherical in shape, and their average particle size determined by FESEM was about 25 nm. The interactions between the bioactive compounds of Thymus daenensis and the produced Ag NPs were evident in the FTIR spectra Furthermore, AgNPs exhibited good antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus (Gram-positive bacteria), Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Gram-negative bacteria).
