Lifespan of polyethylene nets

چکیده :
Polymers are considered a necessity of a modern industrial economy, which a many the polyethylene nets could be utilized in various field such as agriculture, the useful life of these kind of polymers and the effect of different additives on the life, can may better use for humans and in the industrial dimension of a competitive market for industrialists and their customers (1). Many factors affect the chemical degradation of polyethylene, which include oxidation, hydrolysis, and reaction with other materials. Also the degredation can be accured by physical factors such as heat, sunlight, and cutting. In this study, the effect of heat on polyethylene was investigated. For this purpose, anti-uv granules which have which have hindered amines in their structure were used. By using thermogravimetric analysis and the Arrhenius equation, the effect of these hindered amine granules on polyethylene can be monitored (2,3). Polyethylene without anti UV at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius has a lifespan of 748 days and polyethylene with anti UV under the same conditions has a lifespan of 821 days. The results show that by addition of these additives to the polyethylene nets the lifespan of thepolymers will be increased arounds 73 days.
